Thanks , good video . Wire brush the bracket and caliper before you re install. Lube the 7mm Allen pins before install.

Subarus workshop manual says to disengage the parking brake, remove the negative lead on the battery and then remove the connector to the back of the caliper. Then it is safe to wind back.

Great video overall. Only would suggest knocking the rust off the hub before putting a new disc on and re-greasing the slide pins when doing a brake job. Great trick with unplugging the E-brake unit and just turning it back in. Much more complicated on my VW, but looking forward to doing my wife's Subaru next week.

Excellent Job. Planning on replacing my rear rotors/pads in on my 15 legacy. Local mechanic did my front ones a few months ago and they charged me 580.00. i just did my 2013 Honda pilot rear and front and it was not bad at all. I took my time but i got them done with no issues. Thanks again!

Nice video! I am going to work on mine pretty soon. Could you provide more information on 12mm bolts? what is the thread size? 6M x12mm? or 5M x 12mm? or 8M x 12mm?

I this you asked this some time ago but just incase, I used the bolt that held the brake line in place. I just did my mom's 2017 Outback yesterday and that bolt worked perfectly. I worked it in and out of each hole a couple times using little pressure in the rotor popped off.

Solid video. I didn't know they made a tool like that. I always use a c-clamp and a a sturdy yet thin piece of metal when pushing in the caliper piston.

You might already know this but on Subarus the caliper must be winded in, not smashed in. Righty tighty retracts it.

My caliper piston has come out too far. Can this be pushed back in or do I need a new caliper

You can't just push it in with a c clamp. You need to wind/twist it back in first then you can push it back in the rest of the way.

Sure. Just google, brake caliper piston retracting tool, the most reliable one would be a hand mechanical one that comes in a set for most common vehicles.

This Particular model vehicle mechanically retracts just how I showed you in the video. Nothing electronic to do.

No. It's threaded and must be winded in.
