Just aquired a 2002 F150 with a stuck ash tray. Thanks for the video showing how to repair it. Pulled mine out, drilled a screw through the spring and works like a charm...thanks again!

My 2003 F-150 is the first vehicle I've been in that has a cup holder that comes out like this. Because of that, I had no idea that was how it comes out. I kept pushing and pushing and nothing. Looked it up, found your video, and it pops right out. Thank you. Now I have a place to put my drinks when there's 3 people in the front.

Many thanks for your time on this one. My cup holder was stuck in, and some other videos started with it out. I had tried prying from the top, but you inspired me to have a go from the bottom of the front of the holder and out it came using just a flat screwdriver for a pry tool. I'm going to combine screws and JB Weld to over-engineer it so it never breaks again.

Thanks for posting this. VERY helpful. I recommend drilling-out the broken rear tabs that previously held the tray spring and using pop rivets to reattach it. Simple and easy. Really appreciate your taking the time to post this tip.

FYI I used pop rivets. You'll have to drill out where you see the black adhesive. I used 3/16" rivets with two small washers on each. You can find all of this at your local hardware store. I figured this would be a more permanent application. But I didn't have a clue how to get it out until I watched this video. Thanks again!

Lol. It's easy when things work. But when you have a stubborn cupholder like i do. One wants to tear it out with something. No screwdriver just pops it out. That damn thing wants to stay.

Get below dash, you see 2 tabs underneath cup holder. 1) pull cup holder out as far as it will go. 2) From below, pull down with one finger on each tab simutaneously to release them from the track. Make the peace sign with your fingers, find the tabs, pull down simutaneously. 3) While holding the tabs down, pull cup holder completely out with other hand. No tools needed. 4) Drill 2 pilot holes through existing 'spring location spots, re-attach the spring with 2 sheet metal stud screws

Hey i found that with the clips that hold the tray from coming out you can reach them from under the tray much easyer then using a screwdriver.
