How To Replace Rusted Spring & Rebuild Pentair Multiport Valve Diverter Pool Filter Spider Gasket

Tutorial on how to replace the rusted spring and rebuild a PENTAIR multiport valve diverter on a pool filter multiport valve. These springs only last a few years max, and then most people buy a whole new multiport valve diverter top assembly, which costs at least $150, and I've heard pool stores charge as much as $450 for. These springs can be purchased for less than $5, and easily replaced with basic hand tools.

For this Pentair 2" multiport valve, the spring is 1-5/8in in diameter by 1-3/8in tall.

5 Star Video -- Just the thing my handle broke on my new multi port valve where the pen slides in. I have the old valve body that that spring was rusted as bad as the one you showed. I am glad I didn't trash it as can now I can salvage the handle. The clamps where brilliant and I slapped myself for not thinking of it. 👍👍👍👍👍

@@engineerable Boy, your interest is all of the place with your videos. I have a question on the Multi Valve that you might be able to answer. My 2 inch Multi-vlave is P/N 263085 will this white P/N 270067 valve top work on my main body? And a note for FYI, eBay has the handle P/N 271156 for as little as $17. Thanks by the way I couldn't find handle's P/N number anywhere.

I live in Thailand. Following your video, I fixed the leaking top lid by replacing only 2 o rings which cost me only 20 cents + 7 dollars for 2 clamps. BIG THANKS for your video which helps me save 170 dollars for a whole brand new multiport.

My multi port valve is leaking, I can here it exiting through other pipes when the pump turns off and I'm guessing this rebuild would fix it but I'm not sure because I know nothing about it. Any thoughts
