I came here for help but this guy struggled just as much as I did hahah. I found that the best way was not to push down on the cushion of the earpads but rather to get your fingers directly down on the plastic frame and to slightly push it towards the exterior rather than straight down. Should click right into place if they're properly aligned. Love these headphones! Mine are almost five years old at this point, so I just changed the battery and earpads hoping for a few more years of good service until I can afford something better. I'm quite impressed by how mine held together despite being out in the rain and cold canadian winter many many times! These are built to last and I've also found out that if you get scratches on the matte black part, you can simply scrub them away with your finger!

Finally a good video on this! I remember having to replace this for the first time about two years oh man spent way to long trying to work out how to do, now it's that time again. haha thanks very much. Much better then the other videos out there currently. The PXC 550 II does not have replacement ear pads.

Thank you for this video!!!!! I spent two days wondering how to take them off without breaking the latches!!! ps. that you managed to get the original pairs at the end of 2021 for the first generation. in mid-2023 they didn't have pads for version 2 in Europe... now they're completely falling apart, and I ordered replacements with a gel material inside, and instead of plastic "skin", a matte, velvet-like material. they are tighter and have even better soundproofing than an ordinary sponge!!

I am PXC-550 owner from years, leather imitation earpads are not comfortable, I do recommend to replace with cooling gel form factor instead, SOULWIT Cooling-Gel in amz works well!
