If You have not got access to a lift then it is a good idea to remove the wheel on that corner as it gives You much more room to work on it!

Is it possible to by pass air conditioner on a 2000 Ford focus SE without purchasing a pulley?

Yes, I am using the belt for the non air conditioned Focus because my ac compressor is shot. No other pulley or bypass pulley needed. This is on a dohc engine, the other engine is probably similar.

I dont think the 2001 is the same. I literally broke the bolt off the tensioner pulley.
