*Please do yourself a favor, and change the water pump, and tensioner too at the same time. It's officially part of the job when you change the timing belt. You'll be right next to it anyway.* 🔧 If your timing belt snapped, it could have been caused by the water pump locking up. If the car jumped timing, then the belt was already worn out. and it was just time to replace the belt. The water pump drive gear will shred the teeth on a brittle or aged belt.

That's a great idea. The whole job only takes 45 minutes so I changed the belt even though it was fine.

Can someone PLEASE help me to understand, which Timing Mark is the Real Timing Mark The Camshaft Gear has 2 markings that’s confusing me to the point where I find myself feeling pretty lost. Mr Crafty Tech points out that there is a “Timing Mark” on the face of the Camshaft Gear that looks like some kind of a disfigured small triangle that needs to be aligned with the Ridiculous Indented hole on the top center of the engine block, when in fact, the Real Timing mark is the protruding (^) located on the inner edge of the Camshaft Gear. So which one is it ? The video is very well explained as far as the Mechanical part goes. But the Alignment part should be considered Critical. And to mention 720 degree’s is Not fair for us Laymen who don’t even know what the hek that means, but I figure it out. One revolution = 360 degree’s turning clockwise, and Two revolutions = 720 degree’s, or SIMPLY said: 360 degree’s times 2, or 2 revolutions turning in a Clockwise direction.

Trying to determine if this is the problem. The the car has 105k miles and probably never been changed. It idols kinda rough and lately I've noticed a occasional misfire when going down the road. This seems like my borderline on my mechanic skills.

I kinda doubt timing. If it is the timing and it skips. The second skip is probably within the next 5 starts, then it start chewing teeth off the belt. I'd get a cheap Bluetooth scanner and the cardoc app then watch a simple video explaining how to read fuel trims and have at it. You should be able to replace one part and be done.

I just did this repair on my mom's car and the car still won't start. It was turning over very weak and now it won't turn over at all, it just clicks. I'm assuming its the starter from trying to start the car so much over the last few weeks. Battery has 12 volts. Any ideas? Thanks so much for the video, I couldn't have done it without you

12 volts could be a low battery. 12.6 is usually what a fully charged battery that has sat for a while should read. I'm happy to hear I helped,. Good luck!
