How to Replace SNES Power Connector | RUMBLEBOX Repair

We're taking another look at the SNES I purchased on eBay. This time we are going to replace the broken power connector on back of the console. A replacement part can be purchased for a few dollars and all it takes to repair it is a bit of soldering and a bit of force!

I had to do this for a snes jr, but since they don't make replacement Jack's for that model i had a friend 3d print one and changed the size barrel jack.

Thanks for the vid. Next time just apply more heat to the joints and pull at the same time you can get that out without having to force it out.

What brand and model solder iron are you using? Also what is the wattage and temperature?

My DC jack was loose and power only worked when held a certain way. When I went to resolder the metal ring around where you solder came off. After soldering I now have no power at all. Is it because the metal came off and if it is how do I fix it?

Nintendo is like the Apple of game consoles. They're so anal about anyone tampering with their stuff that they don't even use normal screws, requiring a special driver.

I replace my power supply on my super nintendo But now nothing shows on my Tv Before I replaced it it used to shoh but was broken so it would turn off sometimes don't know if I didn't Saturate right or what's the problem
