Great video, I was quoted $400 just for the spark plugs at Infiniti dealership and I'm definitely not going to pay that much for spark plug replacement.

2) For the rear plugs, if you're like me and don't have a 5/8" spark plug specific socket (magnetic) it's pretty hard to get the old ones out. After I fully loosened the plug, I folded some electrical tape such that sticky side was on the outside of the fold and placed it over the opening on my socket to catch and hold the plug with the socket and secure it in place when I removed it from the cavity.

This video gave me the courage to tackle this job today. My old plugs were in pretty bad shape and now I've got more power. The last plug, the one nearest the driver, gave me a scare because it was so tough coming out. I've never done a helicoil and I didn't want to have to find out how. So glad to have the power back, and saved a net of about $250.00 according the the estimate my mechanic gave me for the job. I started at 1pm and was test driving it at 4:01. Thanks so much!!

correct i have a 2000 maxima and the plugs are easy with minimal auto knowledge and the right sockets, i wanted to but a nice looking 2008 but i think changing the plugs in back are over my head, I'm not buying a car i would be at the mercy of a mechanics fees of 450 dollars for new plugs and Labor.

I was searching for 2000 infiniti i30. I hope my problem is coil and plugs . all is running good it's just the ... P0430. 233000 mile in love . wish it was a manual ... I don't mind installing a clutch.4 speed is good just little bang or slip from 1st to 2nd but only marging onto the highway on Cold mornings. So the rest of the time it runs like a champ. And I believe a little misfireing . p0430.. First v6 . previous cars Corolla greatest ever , and Dodge neon was ok . Predictable .

I noticed that also. The whole intake manifold has to come off. It's the only way to get at the rear coils and plugs. Actually the whole process isn't hard. Thanks to some other vids that I checked out. I redid my 2004 Maxima car. Once ya know how to work on that car? There's almost nothing that one cannot fix or replace.

Y'all wanna hear somethin funny the dealership that i called to get it done said that it was a 4 hour job 😂😂😂 from what i can tell here its about an hour maybe an hour and a half thank you for the video. Now if i can only figure out what cylinder is number 1 im in business 😂😂😂 jk i know which one it is..... i think. If it's loose, another trick is to place a piece of rubber gas line over the end to help twist it out. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Hello Mike, I want to say a HUGE thank you for this video. I have an 03 Maxima SE with the VQ35 engine. The intake plenum was a bit of a bear, so I undid just enough to move it out of the way. I did replace that gasket while there.I was able to successfully replace the coil packs and plugs. I also replaced the front valve cover gasket (1 qrt every 500 miles) too since I was already working in the immediate area. My car has almost 190k mi on her and she runs like a scalded dog again! TY sir!

I change all my spark plugs and everything i plug everything in back in place... But i notice that one of my ignition coil wouldnt locked up so i replaced it with a new one and i put it on... My car turns on and if i give it gas and stays on but as soon as i let go its starts to shake then shuts off

Hi I have a 02 maxima and I saw how you guys take off the intake manifold but my question is when I'm ready to put it back to its place I know I will need the gaskets which I have already what else do I need so it won't leak nothing? Is it simple to do?

HI Oscar, A set of new gaskets should be all that you need to seal the intake. Just make sure that the mating surface is clean, and free of debris and old gasket material. Hope this helps you out.

chris miller No. All 2000 to 2001 Maximas came with 3.0 engine with 222hp. 2002 to 2003 came with 3.5 engine with 255hp

2002+ it's called a 5.5 gen cause they introduced the 3.5 but the body style remained

No the 2000 SE came with the 3.0 V6, as did the 2001. On those, the rear plugs are accesible without having to remove the intake. 2002 and up changed to the 3.5 V6 seen in this video that require removal of the intake for the rear 3 plugs.

Then i have to stop the car put some water on the radiator when it comes cool it will start work. Great video! When you put the upper intake plenum back on, it appeared that you re-used the old gasket. You didn't say anything about it.... Is it OK to do this? Or should a new gasket be installed? Considering there is no oil or coolant involved, I assume it's OK to just re-use the gasket for the upper plenum. Thanks!

I got a question I have a Nissan Maxima 04 and the check engine light flashing while moving and the car shake while stop and park. I think it is one of the spark plugs but not sure if it is that. All I know is that my car check engine blink and my car shake when slowing down.
