How to replace starter on Honda Ridgeline

Love my 2011 Ridgeline, “Billy.” Starter went kaput in the Lowe’s parking lot yesterday. Watched your video and ordered my new starter from Autozone this morning. Will put my skills to the test in that Lowe’s parking lot today. Thank you!

How could I determine if my starter is bad on my 09 Ridgeline?I have a no start, it chugs and chugs but doesn't turn. (New battery & spark plugs, fuses good). Thx! Love your content.

You know, all mechanics are hoarders by trade. Maybe you can increase your knowledge and rebuilder stock like you are doing with the control arm bushings and buy a solenoid and rebuild that starter to have on the shelf as a backup. Because you never know. Aftermarket new is not always the same as new and good oem.

Got a re-man at NAPA for $155 plus tax. Took me three hours but better than the $750 the mechanic wanted. 😮

You should rebuild that starter yourself , you can buy the internals online
