Thank you very much Roy! I followed your clear step-by-step instructions and I successfully replaced my 2011 Sienna a/c compressor - I would have struggled to do it otherwise. The most difficult part was putting the serpentine belt back on and getting enough leverage on the tensioner. I see you had a special tool for that. I was able to find a bit of pipe to put over my wrench and the additional leverage enabled me to get the tensioner back all the way while my wife put on the belt over the drive pully. Thanks again!

Hi Roy, thanks for the video! A couple of questions: 1. Did you have to burp the engine cooling system after installing the compressor? 2. Did the Denso compressor in your video not come prefilled with oil? Because the supplier I'm buying mine from claims that it is. Any insight you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again!

Roy thank you very much. I just did mine on a 2005 Sienna. Much easier, the compressor in near the top of engine. I just wanted to check the other compressor holes near where the ac lines connect to compressor. The compressor I received was new from parts store but the fasteners were different. I was confused whether I should put bolts in those holes or not. You didn't so I will assume, I shouldn't. Once I put freon, ill know for sure. Everything is done except evacuation & charging system. Anyhow thank you.

Got my old compressor out. Looking at the new compressor and reading the manual that came with it, the directions said to empty out the old compressor's oil and the new compressor's oil into 2 measuring cups and make sure the new compressor get the same amount of oil as the old one. Apparently the new denso compressor does come with oil. Seeing you putting 4 additional oz of oil into the new compressor, I am not sure if that is correct. Where did you get the 4 oz from?
@RoysGarage8083 жыл бұрын
If it doesn’t come with oil and it’s the first time changing the compressor, put in 6oz. After the first time, put 4oz. I can’t explain how/where I got the numbers from but it’s from years of experience and I also own a few 2015 Siennas myself. I hope that helps and Thanks for watching 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽

If it’s broken, your AC won’t get cold BUT that’s also misleading because if your don’t have Freon, it’ll also not get cold. You won’t know for sure until you look and use a gauge to check. I hope that answers your question and Thanks for watching 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽

@FireLikeIYA8 ай бұрын
Did you measure the oil in your compressor? I bought the Denso as shown in this video and it had some oil in it but maybe only 30ml. I thought all Denso compressors came with oil. A chart that I found only states it should of been prefilled with 3.4oz.

Roy you're always so organized with the tool tray Do you video the tray before the job or after you've collected everything in the job is finished? Great concise video!
@RoysGarage8083 жыл бұрын
Haha, great question. I must admit sometimes it’s after we’ve filmed, but usually it depends on the job. If it’s a brake job, you should do them in pairs so I’ll already have done one side and know what tools I need for the other side, oil changes are quite simple to know what’s needed, but sometimes I’ll have to edit out the time spent finding the right size and type of tool and film the shot at he end! Thanks for you support and watching! 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
