How To Replace The Battery a Rado Diastar Ceramic Watch | SolimBD

For anyone who needs to change their battery - I purchased a Renata 315 (also known as an SR716SW). I purchased a Beco Technic 7 piece watchmaker screwdriver set for £35 which I would recommend. I used the grey screwdriver which is 1.4mm. Don’t use cheap screwdrivers as they are not precise enough to fit and will just damage the screws. The Beco 1.4mm worked well for me. I also used plastic gloves and a carbon fibre watchmaker tweezer to avoid shorting the battery and getting skin oil on or inside the watch. It was awkward to get the battery in. I slid it under the two gold battery clips and I then pushed down gently on the other side. It didn’t go all the way in (and I was worried about applying to much force and snapping something), but when I screwed the back down, it seemed to push it into place. I didn’t remove the strap and didn’t find this a major inconvenience if you position the narrow strap extender piece over where you are working rather than the ceramic strap, but the curved face is awkward and I was careful not to push down on the watch too hard in case it put too much pressure on the glass face.Not sure that this is the right way to do it, but it worked for me. Thanks for the helpful video. I think watchmaker screwdrivers come in various sizes - 0.8mm, 1mm, 1.2mm, 1.4mm etc. Do you know which one this watch needs?
