This is a video tutorial on how to replace the battery on your Apple iPhone 8.

Good video. If I may. I personally would not even take off the flex cables connecting the screen to the motherboard. I have a tool that holds up the existing screen at a 90-degree angle. On one end is a spring-loaded set of jaws to grip the lower end of the screen and the other end fits into the charging port. The tool can be posed so as to keep the screen up at the desired angle. Once I do that, I can use a set of tweezers to slowly peel off the glue strips at the charging port end of the battery, basically spinning the stretchy onto the end of the tweezers. Once you get the battery hold-down adhesive strips removed, you can replace them with new ones that come with a battery kit. Before inserting your new battery adhesive strips, connect your new battery to the motherboard so as to get the right fit before you mount the new battery. I install the new battery tape onto the battery just like they were when you opened up the phone. Then it is simply attaching the battery flex cable to the motherboard. Test by turning on your phone. After testing on/off function, install your new double-faced adhesive frame strip all along the perimeter of your phone pressing into place with the pointed end of a plastic spudger. Once you have done that, remove the translucent tape backing. Close your phone, replace the screws on both sides of the charging port and you're done!

If you have the effort to replace that battery. Why you just dont replace the new adhesive strips and the screen seal? Otherwise its a good tutorial.

Yes he should have simply peeled back the adhesive strips when he wanted to remove the old battery and then used new ones to install the new battery...
