Thanks to this amazing video I have now built up the confidence to remove the motor, replaced the carbon brushes as they were very worn down and now ready to put back in the machine in the morning.

Sorry for not late reply@@eSpares I can confirm the Carbon Brushes I ordered from you came very quickly, fitted by myself with no issues and now I have a working machine. Thank ever so much for this amazing video. My Beko machine washes the clothes better than it has done in years, I do need to replace the Shock Absorbers and Rubber Door seal but I'll get that ordered and fitted in the new year.

Excellent tutorial. Would just like to add that after I installed the brushes and fixed the E08 error code on my machine, it was super noisy and started displaying an E09 error code when it entered its spin cycle, indicating some problem with the motor triac on the circuit board. After I reset the machine/ran it through self-test mode and put it through a few more noisy washes, the noise and new error code disappeared and the machine now works normally. I would wager the new brushes needed some time and a few test washes to "bed in".

I've just ordered some brushes online for a hoover washing machine and the profile on the carbon tips are facing the opposite way from the worn ones. Can they be fitted regardless or do I need to source another set which has the correct profile on them?

Hi just a quick one i keep getting the same error code on my hoover w/machine brushes worn, the thing is just one side wears down quicker the thge other i have changed the motor the brushes sit on but it still happens..i change them every 12 to 18 months..
@eSpares7 жыл бұрын
Many brushes are fixed at an angle so make sure the slope of the brush tip makes a flat contact to the commutator. If excess wear is occurring use a fine abrasive paper to clean and smooth the commutator surface before fitting. if it still occurs the only cure would be a new motor.

eSpares I have changed the motor and Otis still doing it wearing down unevenly the guy changes the brushes every 12 to18 months is baffled

There is a much easier way… just flip the machine up-side-down… The carbon brushes are normally at the bottom of the motor, with a bit of luck they can be replaced without taking the belt and the motor off the machine
