Hello nice tutorial I'm working on my front load Fridgidaire washer. My washer doesn't go to high speed spin. The test sheet indicated 2.6 ohms +- 7% on testing the 6pin plug. They fall between 2.6 - 2.8 ohms. Are the readings indicate a good motor. Ohm readings on good motor should fall between 1-5 ohms. My motor is brushless. Thank you for helping me understand ohms reading on motors.

hi after recovering a universal washing machine motor intending to use in my workshop, I wired it up to a 24v AC supply and it worked a treat. I wired up a changeover switch to reverse the direction, all ok, but not much power in the rotation. So I connected via a trip mcb, to the mains voltage, and now it doesn't work at all. Is there anything I can do to fix this or is it just fit for the bin

Very informative video, Thank you very much..... I have Bosch MAXX - WFO2430, front loading Washing machine... it was well since 5 years and has a problem now... The problem is ..... in any mode (wash or Spin etc.,) ......the Motor kicks-in to start and stops immediately the very same second.... and waits for 1 or 2 mints .... again the same happens repeatedly until the program count-down reaches to "0" .... All other Water in-take and pump-out are working fine without any leaks. No error codes were displayed during the process. I have removed and tested the motor as mentioned, it worked well (With high RPM)... Any help please?

I notice that the brushes are mounted at an angle to the commutator in my motor, and I wonder if you know the reason. When the motor is rotating in one direction, the commutator will supply a force to the brushes that would act pretty-well directly against their springs (so no lateral force against the sides of the brush holders), but in the other direction, there will be more lateral force than if the brushes were perpendicular to the commutator. Do you know the reason for the angle? I'm using it to drive a band saw, so it will always rotate one way, and as luck would have it, it's the "wrong" way. There are tapped holes in the frame of the motor to mount the brushes the other way, but that would involve turning them upside down so that the curvature of the brush face would match the curvature of the commutator, but I can't get the brushes out of their holders. The angle puzzles me, as washing machines invariably rotate both ways. Are the brush angles optimised for the high speed operations (spin)?
@putteification7 жыл бұрын
Yep it's for high speed. To get to high speed the field windings need to supply less magnetic flux to reduce the back EMF generated in the rotor. And then the rotor flux twists the flux from the field windings. To restore that, you twist the angle of the brushes.

Due to safety reasons and the nature of this test. I think it’s better to make people aware this is not for viewers that don’t know much about electrics.
