If I tried this that radio would never work again. You have the touch sir.

I bought the bulbs from you, but noticed that you didn't reuse the little white bulb base on the 4 bulbs, should they be used or not ? And is there a reason why you use a different radio at the end of the video, I don't understand that ?

I bought my orange Prix with half the radio burnt out but just today the whole display went. I also bought it with a few of the button bulbs burnt out. Could I follow the same process and replace the button bulbs?

How do you get the radio out?
@ryans4134 жыл бұрын
You sir are amazing thank you for the detailed step by step. My radio on my Grand Am 2 out of 3 of the bulbs are burnt out other then that the radio and CD player work fine I just wanted to fix the display so I could see it during the day. And a used or new radio is too much money for me this way was much cheaper 30 bucks for three bulbs

Holy crap you over paid for bulbs. I have high quality replacements with new caps for only $7.99

What is the clicking noise your soldering iron makes? Is it shutting off? Can’t say I’ve ever seen that.

Can the volume and tuning pots be cleaned In situ? Or do I have to desolder them to get to the back sides?

When replacing this same radio from 06 Grand Prix into my 04 grand am, the new radio has a locked message, is there any solution to this, remove something on motherboard, or some combination on the radio itself?,
@Car-Radio-Bulbs3 ай бұрын
You would have to take it to a dealer and see if they can reprogram it.

do you have a source for the buttons themselves? Mine are chipped bad. Could you replace the buttons as well in a repair with the LCD backlights?

Thanks for this video, half my radio screen stopped lighting up the other day but after watching what it takes to replace the bulbs il just leave it alone lol if it goes out completely il replace the whole radio

Just don't make my mistake of getting a replacement OEM. Dealer required to unlock since the radio has a anti-theft control; costs around $300 if I remember right.

I also have a question could you replace those bulbs for white LED bulbs then the display last forever
@Car-Radio-Bulbs4 жыл бұрын
No you can not. I tried and they will not work. I was thinking the same thing about them lasting forever but they will not shine through the lens.

Got the bulbs out, but solder is still in the holes. What's the best way to clear them?
@Car-Radio-Bulbs3 жыл бұрын
The best and easiest way is to use solder wick or a desoldering iron .

i bought the bulbs from you the 4 lights for switches work the display light do not they appear 2 have 3.97 volts any idea
@Car-Radio-Bulbs5 жыл бұрын
The display lights are 12 volt so I would guess something is soldered wrong or something is touching metal.
