The fact so many people have this issue shows you it's a Ford problem. Never heard of flex plate gears going bad until we got this lemon 2005 F150!

On the Flex Plate install, How did you recognize, which hole on the crank was for the bolt hole that was different from the rest? Great work!

it is different than the others but not too noticeble because the marks that make the difference are very small so best thing to do is pay attension before unbolting the flex plate.

yes it does in certain cases here is how, think if it breaks and if a piece of the broken flexplate gets stuck and between tranny and engine then you might get a symptom of a lockedup engine but this is the only way that you can might get this symptom.

problem from factory (ford) flywheel is too thin or too weak, if you over torque it a little bit from torque specs it will last a little longer, but this is personal in my experience because I have done so many of them.
