Do you not have to remove the caliper to get the CV out? Every other tutorial I’ve watched they say remove the caliper and rotor.

Im seeing not to lube the new hub. Can I use any type of grease?

Hi @sanantoniotxrealty! Thanks for your comment. The Front Integrated Wheel End (or Actuator) bolts should be tightened to 9 Ft-lbs. Tell us if everything was OK!

Ive done this several times now fords and chevy, mostly fords. I will never trust 4wd on a ford truck again after doing these. For one, it is very very critical the cv shaft is completely seated and square with the hub or the lock will fail in short order. bind and not engage, bind and not disengage, or grind on each other to destruction. Would heavily advise against Chinese knock offs. Considering Ford really bends you over for about 6x's the cost, I've used them, but never again. The locking actuator you get, compare to the original, the plastic channel that holds the ring gear on, I have noticed many of those China ones are 180 degrees off of the original. I could see no reason that would matter, but it must because every one of those failed, the axle knuckle made contact with the side and destroyed a sealing surface. I could not see why at all, but has to be a geometry issue at play.

I think the squeaking noise is coming from my cv axel. I changed inner tie rid bc it did have play, then I changed the outer bc it was still squeaking so I'm thinking it might be the cv axel. My question is, does the cv axel make a squeaky noise when it's bad. It's only at low speeds or when I'm rocking the truck back and forth when testing for the squeak. Please help and thank you 🙏

It's hard to answer without hearing the noise live. It could come from the cv axle but also from many other elements ...
