Most realistic video on fixing a serious problem on a car. Didn't make it look very easy, but also made it look possible for a average joe.

It gets alot easier with the right tools. They make a special wrench for the fuel pump lock ring.

I wish I could give you a million subscribers!! Just want to say thank you so much for your video on this fuel pump in this car! Your attention to detail, the way you communicate and the close-ups that you give on the video, they were all so far above and beyond anything else I found. This was THE BEST instructional video that I could find. And I say that knowing how difficult it must be to think about your audience while you're fixing a car. I can't imagine the headache and frustration and everything else that goes into making a good video while you are are fixing a car. And you're encouragement! I gotta kick out of your encouragement, and I needed it. Everything that you talked about helped me plan and prepare and know that this can be done if I give it enough attention, have enough patience, and keep trying. Your wisdom came through the video. Thanks again. I was able to get my 2008 Hyundai Sonata fuel pump removed and replaced without taking it to the mechanic. You're the best!

This saved me hundreds of dollars. Took me a while but your video and instructions worked great. Put some lube under the ring to be able to hammer it back in place. Thank you man! Keep making videos!

Did you use the old lock ring? mine is a 7 of 10 after hitting it with a brass brush and brake parts cleaner. I was gonna soak it in krud kutter rust remover. It's in the freezer until I get daylight and it's not raining.
@joeyfrenchfries Жыл бұрын
Yeah, but no rust on mind. Just wiped it clean.

I finished the job today and reinstalled a 3200 watt sound system. I used the old rusty but cleaned up lock ring. It's only 18 bucks for the new lock ring on amazon. However this job took long enough for the parts to come and it was a full day thunderstorm right after the parts came. I froze the lock ring for 48hr and got it started very fast, all tabs started and a new O ring seated like a Queen. Then i used pb Blaster at each claw and knocked her home. I then used crc electronics cleaner to clean up the pb blaster. Thanks so much for the video, I'll subscribe with my 50 alts too.

Thanks bro! Parts not coming until tomorrow by 10pm so I went at the ring with PB Blaster a STEEL screwdriver and a STEEL hammer. Even though I ordered the wrench. Only pu$$ E's and dead people are scared of sparks and gasoline. I did it while smoking a J. Since the parts won't be here till dark, I'll probably do the install by candle light. I did unplug the battery ground because I got a lot of car audio stuff back there. If not I'll install it Hellen Keller style after watching you do it.

I subscribed to your channel because this video is so good. How much did the pump cost? How much did you charge to replace it? One of my coworkers asked me if I change the fuel pump in his daughter’s 2016, and I’m trying to figure out a fair price to charge them. I also told him to get a diagnostic test done to make sure it’s the fuel pump and not something else.

If you try to do this on a gdi engine you will regret it!!! There is a hose with a wuick disconnect in the tank that mis be dosconnected before you can even attempt to remove it. Idk if this 2012 tank shrunk or the pump swelled but that mf was bigger than the hole to get it out. I took the pump apart to get it out. I plan to use a razor knife to make the hole a very little bit bigger so i can get the new one in but i am dreading it. Ive been working on cars for many many years. This has been very vwry very difficult. I REALLY DONT RECOMMEND YOU TRY. YOU WILL REGRET THE DISCISION. The non dgi pump shown herebis much easier.
