I was told that I can't use the cheap glow plugs that I need to buy the sensor glow plugs at 160 a piece, I have a 2014 vauxhall insignia I'm getting took on any help please

My g/plugs were not the sensor g/plugs, some are fitted with sensors , If yours have sensors you need to replace with the sensors g/p.

For b20 engines glow plugs needs to be tighten to 16.5nm as per service manual.

I have a 14plate insignia and today I have just been quoted £446 to replace No.1 and No.3 . Am I right in thinking that provided there are no issues with the threads this job could be done in 1/2 - 3/4's of an hour. Would it be ok to put copper slip or the likes on the threads to avoid them stripping next time around, only all the tutorials I've watched haven't done this, but warned against stripping.

Replace mine with Bosh g/p. £35 on eBay. Put wd40 on them for 3 days came out ok. Tighten them at 10nm. Put copper slip on new ones..

Hi Micheal, I was gonna mention this. I been told to treat the glow plugs then give 5 to 7 days and also been told to try if it’s moving between that 5 to 7 days then they should be easier and it’s my turn now :)

I treated mine with wd40 for 3 days morning and night, it depends if they were put in at correct toque 10 nm..also how long they have been in..if really tight be very careful as they can snap off..use plenty of lubricant when taking out an refitting ,,don’t rush the job just take your time, good luck.
