Not expecting a response as this is an old video now , but is there a particular way the connectors come off ? Im doing a full cam belt, drive belt, all filters service on my car and wanted get the multimeter on my plugs to test them but when i tried pulling the connectors they wouldn't budge ???
@MTMMotorServices Жыл бұрын
Hey, the connectors that go on to the sensors (on top of the glow plug) they should be push fit so they should just pull off. If they are tight I would recommend trying some thin pliers that you could use to help grip them. You don't want to pull too hard incase you damage the wiring or the plastic of the clips themselves as they can go brittle with age. Some variants can have areas on the plastic to help lever the connector apart or even worth checking if yours has any small clips that may need to be pushed together. But in my experience they've just been push fit like in the video.

The connections are different to standard glow plugs. So you wouldn't be able to fit standard ones without modifying wiring and programming the car, otherwise you'll trigger fault codes.

Can I somehow check without diagnostic which glow plug has problem, and should I change only that one with a problem or all four glow plugs ?
@MTMMotorServices4 жыл бұрын
You should check with a diagnostic tool what faults are stored to make sure you're on the right path with your diagnosis. Glow plugs are serviceable items, so when one goes faulty, the others won't be far behind. With that said, I always recommend to replace the set whole you're there to save repeat issues.

I use the Foxwell NT530 goes quite in-depth even reads the pressures from glow plugs and you can put on graph its often only one faulty plug .But shows up as more than one faulty one just reading code off think its due to way car's software looks at pressures . 'These plugs are £100 each so you don't just chuck new set in like normal glow plugs there often just carboned up causing them to stick . I cleaned mine in ultrasonic cleaner with carb cleaner could see loads of carbon coming out were tip fits in main body

Can you please help me? I had the same problem, with "Service vehicle soon" message. Once i went to diagnostics, it showed glow plug # 2 as a problem. After we replaced it, I again had "Service vehicle soon" message. I again went to local garage and they said the diagnostics is showing glow plug #1 is problem, now. We replaced it, but in two days, the same problem happened again. This time it was # 3. In two days, again it showed the same thing, except that this time it was #3 AGAIN, eventhough we replaced it with the new one. I went to authorised Opel dealer, and they were saying it is showing # 3 glow plug is problem. They were explaning that maybe my glow plug was not the original BERU. When they put their BERU glow plug, it did not show any message. I told them to put mine back, and this time it did not show any message also. At least not for month or so. After that, same message appeared again, this time it was showing glow plug # 4. I replaced it and I solved problem for another month. Then again same "Service vehicle soon" message appeared. This time it was crancshaft sensor, (or at least that is what it was showing (P1325). I replaced it as well (eventhough it looked like nothing was wrong with it). I did not even leave garage, on diagnostics showed Glow plug #2 as fault. I replaced it again. Ten days later, "Service vehicle soon" message appeared again. I do not know what to do anymore. Can you PLEASE tell me what you think the problem is?????

For some reason different vehicles seem to have variations on this. This particular engine had all sensors. I've seen others with none, Just one, Or every other like you describe. Until you physically look and check which is fitted, you won't know. Most part suppliers will tell you there's options and they will need you to physically check before giving you the correct parts.
