Hi, I am about to do a fan motor replacement and you have produced a great instructional video. Thank you. I have had dash out before but was wondering can you test the motor without removing the heater box? Reason I ask is that mine does work for 5 to 10 minutes before it blows the fuse, I can speed up the fuse blowing by switching the wipers on because it's the same fuse. This leads me to think it could just be an earthing issue. Not sure how I test it in the box. Any idea's great fully received.
@CombeValleyCampers Жыл бұрын
Hi Wayne. Your correct, they are on the same circuit (fuse). Definitely check the dash earths and also all the connections. You could independently test the motor by powering it up via the plug in the back of the fan switch. Pull the plug off and apply voltage to the appropriate terminal to power the fan using a probe. Good luck

@@CombeValleyCampers Thank you very much I will give that a try. Good luck in with your expansion and Happy Birthday. 😊

I was thinking of upgrading the heater box to a four-lever Vanagon box so the air vents in the doors will provide ventilation to the rear seat of my Doka. Is there anything besides swapping the heater controls and adding the lower section of the heater box with the vent flap that would make this difficult?
@beemsquar13 жыл бұрын
Brilliant video thank you. I have a question though, after doing this on my van, my middle heater control is stuck to the left now, it wasn't before and I can't see how to free it. I have the cables in the following order. Top Lever connected to top flap on heater box Middle Lever goes down through transmission tunnel and was not un done. Bottom Lever connected to bottom flat on heater box. Any advice would be most appreciated.
@CombeValleyCampers3 жыл бұрын
Try moving the levers without any cables attached, they can get stuck sometimes, maybe also double check the cable route, they can get caught up when reinstalling the dash. They have to be free to mive
@beemsquar13 жыл бұрын
@@CombeValleyCampers thank you, I will take the dash back out and try again. On a secondary note, what does each Lever do if I need to replace a cable?
@gordonblues8432 жыл бұрын
Do you think it's possible to flush the heater matrix without dismantling the dash?
@CombeValleyCampers2 жыл бұрын
Access is very very tight without the dash removed. You'd save a lot of hassle by removing the main dash board
@gordonblues8432 жыл бұрын
@@CombeValleyCampers thanks. Actually I'm told from another source you can access the pipes from underneath just behind the fan.
