is the flange size and bolt spacing standard size across models? i mean if i purchase Denso 234-4162, will the flange bolt on perfectly on my 4AGE 20v stock exhaust manifold? mine is blacktop anyway.
@agentmattk11 жыл бұрын
I was kind of wondering the same thing for the blacktop, I see you have grounded the sensor 'signal output to ecu' to achieve it staying hot all the time (black/thick grey), Is this the same with the black top (except white/thick grey)? is this even necessary since like you said the black top just 'turns the thing on'? I'm having o2 sensor trouble codes come through my ecu and related troubles would appreciate any advice. thanks :)

Hey mate, random question. I'm having a hard time finding a decent brand o2 sensor for my 4age blacktop. Would you know of any good o2 sensors for my blacktop?

Hi, I got a 20v silvertop, but I don't have an 02 sensor got the car with out one. My question is, can't I just purchase an 234-4162 DENSO OXYGEN SENSOR modify the plug to work?

Hey, tell me where it is better to connect to the MAC Silver top. The unit is efi and spit on black top

Hey, could you tell me, is that sensor you're using a Titania or zirconia? I saw online the silvertop works with the Titania type sensors

Great video mate! An epitome of 'How-to'. Thanks! I'm going to order a Denso 234-4162 and give it a whirl on my Blacktop. Fingers crossed it will get rid of the hesitating between 2000-3000 RPM when cold. UPDATE: 26.08.2014: This oxygen sensor is too small for the Blacktop. I had to cut slots in the side of the sensor. The plugs are a straight fit too, unlike the AE101. The hesitating hasn't gone away, BUT I haven't run it in properly yet, so the ECU hasn't had time to re-calibrate. Hopefully It'll come right. Has your fuel economy been better?

Shannon Sonny Yeah, turns out my TPS [Throttle Position Sensor] is buggered. It's definitely that as I tuned it as via the manual and it came right! If you are getting lagging issues too, check your TPS and change the Oxygen sensor anyway.
@TERRAOperativeOriginal9 жыл бұрын
James Tyrell Yeah, the throttle position sensor can cause a few issues if it's not calibrated properly... Thankfully it is easy to calibrate with a multimeter and a feeler gauge and some patience.

***** Problem is mine falls out of tune after 6 weeks. Does yours do that?
@shannonsonny57769 жыл бұрын
James Tyrell ***** mine hesitates massively, also my VVT isnt engaging.. i have replaced the solenoid, so i guess my car has got all sorts of sensor/electrical/wiring issues.. sigh. Its a 20v BT in a KE70 Corolla, and it doesnt even have a diagnostics port. i bought it only with the engine in it. haha. fck..

I got another generic brand one, not the Denso. Still need to grind off the flange a bit though.

can this 02 sensore help my vvt ? not working
@TERRAOperativeOriginal9 жыл бұрын
MICK Thao Possibly... Is your engine in the original car, or is it an engine swap? Make sure the purple white with white line is connected to a speed sensor on the transmission. Also, double check the operation of the VVT pulley and solenoid. I have another video on how to do this. kzbin.info/www/bejne/m5zOiYSIZ6aMY9U

i blew my first engine den brought a 2nd hand engine and bolted into my car ever since that the engine in it now just felt very weak and VVt Never engage so i brought a new Solonoid and also has replace the VVT pulley and that was from the old engine,, also not sure if the timing was off.. and have never replace my 02 sensor yet.

+TERRAOperative Hey man will that Denso 234-4162 fit standard silver top headers? I had bought a universal only to find the flange that came with it was too small to straddle the standard bolts on the headers. The o2 sensor I took out was one solid unit flange and sensor in one. Toyota NZ does not stock the sensor for the silver top, and may have to buy the Denso off ebay.
@rajivmohadawoo6 жыл бұрын
I bought this on ebay, and it did not fit. So I grinned the edges to make it fit. Unfortunately with this new O2 sensor, the engine is bogging when warmed up..Disconnected it, runs fine. Connected again. Bogs.
