I have a slightly different problem. The pin is in place, however the fabric/plastic right next to the pin is torn a little bit. I have a hard time getting the two way zipper of my supernice sailing jacket zipped up. Is there a way to repair it (myself)?

You did a great job of demonstrating. I guess that stop you installed the first time is sometimes called an insertion box. I bought a pack of three zippers and a handful of zipper stops, not realizing I was going to need more than that. I'm a first-timer.

Great video. I have a jacket that needs a new pin, ordered a zipper kit. Can't find a pin that fits one on jacket so going to have to replace both pin and box. But that said the pin side is a little frayed not horribly but, would like to reinforce the area. What do you suggest to reinforce before putting pin on? Thank you.

Unfortunately you may not be able to reuse the pin box once it is removed from another zipper. A lot of the time it get damaged trying to remove it. I would recommend buying the zipper repair kit off of Amazon.

Hello, a brand new zipper already has top stops on it. The only time you would need to replace the top stops or add tops stops is if you replace the slider or shorten the zipper. I hope that answered your question.

Thank you for taking time to reply. I was actually referring to zipper tape that is sold by the yard. It doesn’t come with zipper pulls or stops. You’re supposed to cut the tape to the desired length and add stops and zipper pull. I was able to figure out how to add the stops and pulls and plastic.

Hello, you don't always have to heat it up if the area is not enough for you to attach a new pin or insertion box then you may have to replace the zipper.

Good video. But my problem is a bit bigger. I'll appreciate if you could suggest a solution. First of all, it is not a jacket that I am trying to fix. This is the rear of a Jeep Wrangler softtop. The insertion pin is unstable, not completely detatched., Causing the zipper not to close. Secondly the zipper zipper has opened and stuck. It is a double zipper. Two pull tabs, one for the left and one for the right side. Thanks.
