Model of the screen stereo installed: Blaupunkt Memphis 440BT 2 DIN CD/DVD/USB/SD/AUX/BLUETOOTH
Necessary materials: Against harness, screen or stereo frame, screen or stereo screw fasteners, Pocket (In case of installing 1 din stereo, not necessary in 2 din), 8 screws, bezel or frame screw cover (Mandatory in Aveo without stereo), 1 meter cable to connect the handbrake cable of the screen, Antenna adapter.
The installation of the video was made in a 2016 Aveo, it is valid in models 2007 (from the G3) to 2017, models prior to 2012 the wiring harness may vary.
Clarification of the parking brake cable: From the screen (and I mentioned it in the video, a brown cable comes out of the harness, to which I put an extension which is that blue cable, that cable detects the parking brake signal when it is on the brake is on, more than anything to avoid distractions when driving when you have a DVD on or videos on USB, you only stop seeing the screen when you remove the handbrake, if you have extra screens (such as in the headrests or roof) They continue to see normal, it is more than anything anti-distractions, and for this reason it is installed on the handbrake.
FREQUENT QUESTIONS:
Where did you buy the front, frame and against harness, do you have the link?
I bought it online, you can search for it on pages like free market, ebay, etc. Just check that it is the year corresponding to your car. Because the harnesses vary, the front and frame seem to me to be the same on the Chevrolet Aveo and Pontiac G3.
I didn't understand the brown cable and the blue handbrake:
The brown wire comes from the stereo harness and is connected to the parking brake, the blue wire is an extension connected to the brown wire as it is too short to reach the parking brake.
Where did you buy the screen?:
UPDATE 2022: Purchase links of some recommended ones above.
What screen model is that?
(DISCONTINUED)
It was a 2 din Blaupunkt 440BT, it's not Chinese, it's German.
Can I install a 7" or 9" screen?
Yes you can but do not be guided by the size of the screen but by the size of the full stereo, for example it must be 2 din to fit perfectly. In the 2 din the maximum screen is 7" but check carefully before buying that it has that data. The 9" ones come with a special frame for those same ones.
