The last 3 years they changed the thermostat location and setup

uhh this looks like a 2.2 engine mine is a 2.4. So on mine the alternator is down way below, not just sitting on top, so where exactly and how do i get to my thermostat?

I have a 2000 Chevy cavalier z24 as well when my thermostat housing cracked-off last year I bought a thermostat thinking it would be contained in the housing but it is not, the thermostat is located somewhere on the back side of the engine from what I hear

This doesn't cover the ecotec motor which has its thermostat neat the exhaust header
