Thanks you put me on the right track. Tested continuity in the cable wires to the switch. One side was dead. Tracked down hidden connections near the switch and one came loose. Small connectors inside black insulated (like shrink tubing) just before the switch wires. Don't overlook these when troubleshooting loss of switch.

looks like the millermatic 251 was replaced my the millermatic 255 pulsed mig welder - 4100$. Never heard of a pulsed mig before, supposedly its better at welding thin sheet metal, less heat/distortion. Looks like there is a millermatic 252, but is about the same price as the 255, so i would think id rather the 255.

Snap on makes the worst welders,I worked in three shops that had them and they were all broker in the same place,the trigger,good luck getting the new parts to work properly
