This is how to replace the windshield wiper motor in a 1972 to 1993 Dodge Ram Truck or Ram Charger . You can convert the 1987 windshield wiper motor with a smaller 1992 motor for a better fit. Ram Charger Ram D150 D250 D350 W150 W250 W350

that thing is a control relay connector (intermittent) ... the motors were a plug-and-play swap from '81 to '94. Can't vouch for the connectors (some had extra or fewer functions than off/on/delay/wash). Heck, the pickups and vans, too... and some 12-pt deep sockets plus a quart or two of PB blaster will enhance your quality of life immensely for this sort of stuff.

Not a relay that’s a noise suppression device, the relay is a green box mounted next to the ash tray

That part that melted is a radio/noise suppression device I had the same issue , unfortunately that part is needed to run the motor if you upgrade the motor as show in the video to the 90-93 motor the black plug is not needed.

Uh-oh, you disturbed the works. Better hunt down a new set of the plastic pivot connectors & add zerk fittings to the wiper stands. Added a divot to the center hole to clear zerk fitting.

what's messed up? I mean, could you replace the wiper rotor(s) (the nylon ones crumble with age/sun exposure) or does it need a whole motor?

I have 1977 W200 that I looked at, The plug looks different but the motor itself looks like it could be the same bolt pattern. @OtherSarah2 made the comment that '81-'94 Motors are all the same. Maybe a later motor can be made to work on a 77. Appreciate it and Thanks For Watching!

The steering gearbox .. my 77 is manuel steering and wore out. Would like to put a p/s on it but can't find one that I don't have to donate a kidney to get

@@DuddiesAdventure if you're broke *enough*, you can rebuilt your own electric motor. Brushes and contacts are less than $20 for a whole set even today (although finding them is a *trek* in most places), but the rest of it is time and patience. Buena suerte ...
