What about using a sealing between thermostat's housing and that metal part of tube? Is it good idea/unnecessary/bad idea?

When bleeding do you leave the cap on the coolant tank off or put it on though that whole process?

Volvo P2 temperature gauge doesn't show and over heating engine, it goes center gauge and stays there regardless.
