Brother this is a killer video...my 02 had this problem. You are cool for - A. totally just wrenching the job, after first repair doing the gear thing. Then doing it again with a rusty pos that totally needs a bunch of work/oil.. Thanks cause I was thinking about doing this myself but I'm gonna pay the shop

If I want to just replace my window glass (got smashed), can I follow your steps up until you take the bolts out for the regulator? My regulator is fine, just need to replace the glass.

Do you know if the wing window part number is the same on a 82 sr5 and say a "second gen" one? I've been all over forms and Google and I can't find a new one, or even a used on on eBay for a sr5 first gen

The part for the first gens with wing window are unavailable everywhere. You have to go used or convert it to a full window. I had to ship one across America for my first gen. Good luck!

When I had my '80, I had no luck finding the regulators that were for the wing windows. This was about 5 years ago when I tried searching online and at salvage yards. In my case, the part where the handle that cranks; it became wobbly and eventually broke. What I did from what I remember was disassemble the crank part from a regular regulator and putting it on the wing window regulator. This involves grinding the spot that holds the crank part, swapping the parts, and then welding it back on.

Where did you get the new window regulator from? Mine is doing that same thing where that spline doesn’t sit firm and wobbles. Looking to get a new one soon for my 85 4Runner. Thanks for the video!

eBay! But in this video I temporarily used a used unit from another Toyota. The eBay ones are good though. Make sure to understand that the wing windows and non wing windows use different regulators. Good luck!

The 2002 base Tacoma is pretty similar other than the door panels being a little different too!

I imagine it's pretty similar on a lot of standard crank windows. I just didn't see a lot of videos on this so i figured I would participate with my rendition. I'm glad you like it!
