Might not be pretty but this is the best method.. Save money/DIY. Wheel bearing replacement not required.

it's the same for CRV 2010?
@Laudnumify2 ай бұрын
Yes, but you've gotta grind a bit more off the hub.
@Laudnumify2 ай бұрын
It's either this or you buy a new hub $300, a new bearing $200, and get them pressed together $200. Then you've gotta take the old one off and put the new one on. If you brought it to a mechanic you're looking at probably $1200... So, you buy an angle grinder for $150, and a vice for $100. Grinding the bolt it a pain in the butt, put it in the vice with 2 lug nuts screwed together so you don't crush the threads.

Can you explain, please? I need to do the same repair.
@callinyourblufftoday96703 ай бұрын
@@nebuler1 he doesnt know what he is talking about. i'm a mechanic. it is a dust shield he is cutting into. it just protects your rotor from debri and colects the dust your brakes make when breaking. i'm sure ppl will try to say there is something else it does, but trust me it will be fine. the knuckle area may get a lil more rusty but not that big of a deal, they already get rusty as fuck. just do it. or the alternative is replace the wheel bearing

Why because he ground the head of the stud? Or because the threads were damaged?
