Yall want me to tell yall the secret to this door and the white clip? Its all built to install in one piece quickly on the assembly line, the door latch and plastic piece going from the window reg to the door handle are all connected by wires and plastic parts THAT CAN BREAK IF YOU'RE NOT CAREFUL. Do all the stuff shown here except for pulling the white plastic piece loose (its not easy to line back up if you do like the video. Remove three torx in the door latch. One 8mm bolt behind a grommet above the latch and pull the door key mech out. Slide the exterior door handle back and pull it out. Theres a little connector when you pull the handle back that is meant to swivel towards you. Use a small screwdriver or pick to get that connector loose. Loosen the screw that was behind the exterior door handle a few turns and push the white plastic assembly in slightly towards the inside of the door, (theres a little barb that holds it in place in the door sheet metal). Slide that towards the front of the door and then the old regulator, door latch, white clip and all will slide forward, down and out of the door. Then you rotate the latch, clip and all off the old regulator, install that to the new regulator. Route the wires through the holes in the new panel. Put the door connector end in the bottom of door, and slide the reassembled reg and latch into the door lining everything up with the door handle holes and guiding the latch into place to place a screw in to hold it and reverse the disassembly steps. The handle connector is a little tricky to plug in but not terrible. Id make a vid, but it was my nieces car and I no longer have access to it to make said video. Nor the time to disassemble it to reassemble it yet again. That white plastic clip gave me fits until i came to this realization of a process. Its so much easier to do right doing it the way I'm suggesting.

NO WAY!!! this is where i am stuck and trying not to break the 3 prong plastic part! was wondering why the other popular video showed him taking the door lock assy out.

@Meet John Doe you need it, don’t throw it away. I ended up just taking it to a shop and getting it done. They replaces all plastic moving parts with aluminum so it will last longer.
@jerbsherb43913 жыл бұрын
This is the dumbest design I have ever seen for a door. This whole plastic has weighed down the door and makes it 10 times as hard to work on. What the hell was hyundai thinking when they made this?

They weren’t
@user-lp3cf5yn5b7 ай бұрын
They were thinking "we build this cable bullshit to fail and people will have to come in our shops to get the regulator replaced" rather than building solid linkages that will be extremely unlikely to break.

lol the most important part is what they chose to cut out??? dont make much sense to me

You can figure it out by looking at it. It was very difficult to record while working I did my best.

The white clip is a bitch to install. This video makes it seem like it’s easy but it isn’t.

True. I cannot remove the regulator from my 2016 Elantra because of that white clip. The video is good but he does not get into detail about how he was able to pull out the entire window regulator with the white plastic thing still attached.

Hey man the video was very helpful except for the part where you mentioned rolling the window down to expose the two bolts to detach the window that are behind the grommets. That part went by real fast. And I don’t see any bolts expose for me to detach the window. Thank you for your help

As you see, the key is to insult the cameraman, that gets his attention quicker than asking for help.

Can I bring my car to you? LOL....but only half joking! 🙂 Both my 2016 Elantra's passenger side power windows (front and back) stopped working at the same time, what can it be?

If you press the switches and you hear a noise then it’s most likely the window regulators. If you don’t hear anything I would check fuses and make sure your switches are good. I’ve fixed a few by just disassembling the master switch and cleaning the corrosion that was blocking current. That’s usually caused by having the window down for a while when it’s raining.

That white plastic piece was the reason I found this video most useful

I wish we could've seen how he did it.
@user-lp3cf5yn5b7 ай бұрын
@@Slickthequick93 he didn't show that part cause it's a BEYOTCH to put back in where you can't see, and there's also a wiring harness woven all through the plastic. Y'all check my comment. The easiest way is to remove door latch and all as the assembly it is rather than trying to fight that three prong clip in a blind hole.

My 2016 Elantra DS window regulator just went bad. Heard it break when I rolled it down, ordered another used OEM one for cheap motor and all. I'm going to give it a go and replace mine this coming vacation break Car has 127k on it Parts car had 18k
@chazb91642 жыл бұрын
Wasn't hard to do this The window doesn't need to be removed, just unbolt it and pull it up and tape in place. The large white clip was a pain to remove, it's not needed for install. I tossed mine away it all bolted up and worked without no issue. Large white clip can just be snapped off if you yank hard.

I have Hyundai sonata 2017 just put window regulator. The motor is good I hired the window and now it does not want to roll down what can i do? But rolled it up with out the window and can’t get it to go down

Might be your switch, you have to do some testing. Test the down position on your switch. Make sure you get power with the switch on the down position.

Yo could you have possibly repaired the cables? Because I have the same issue they want 390 for the part and 300 for fucking labor? Like that's freaking almost a quarter the value of the vehicle????

Buy a new window regulator Mine just broke, shop wants about the same. I found used part on eBay for $53 shipped. Now I just wait, remove the old one and install the used one. See what happens, it's already broken I can't hurt it.
