I just wanted to thank you, as many others have, for saving me a lot of money. My passenger side window hasn't been able to go up, without help, since we bought the car in 2006. I brought it to a garage last year and they told me I needed a new regulator. After watching your video, I dared to remove the door panel and take a look for myself. To my surprise, 2 of the bolts holding the regulator in place were off and 3 were loose. The window now works perfectly!! Thanks again!

The drivers window for my Corolla got stuck in the down position. I just got off the phone with Toyota the window regulator and motor cost $540 and they are charging $130 for labor. So that comes up to about $725 including taxes. Thankfully I watched this video!!! I'm was grateful for the video because it was helpful with disassembly so I ordered the regulator and motor in one assembly from you. Now my window works just like it did before and it only cost me $58 bucks!

I took the plunge and dove in on this project and was surprised how smooth it went. I would not have done it without your video. The regulator and motor part I received was slightly different than the one I replaced. Instead of a set bolt in the regulator frame there was need for another 10mm screw. Luckily I had one in my shop! This is the 2nd project you have helped me on. The first was replacing the driver side interior door latch. You have me as a follower for my next projects!! Thanks.

I just want to thank you so much. I was able to repair my wife's door window, and never would have pulled it off without your video. I will buy all my parts from you now, and I need some. I need a drivers side door latch and I need the rubber seal that the window seals into. I ordered one some time ago and didn't check it and they sent us the wrong one. Thanks again A1!! It is very much appreciated not just by me, but my wife too...

I picked up a regulator for my Corolla from 1A Auto. It wasn't the same year as listed in this video, but the video still helped. I saved about $200 doing it myself and it was pretty painless. This coming from a guy who does not like to work on cars.

This video nailed the entire process. Thank you so much! The only thing I would say is that around the 6:50 mark you mention the stud in the regulator frame. Be careful to remove only the nut on the stud and not the stud itself. The stud will help you remember how to orient the regulator when you put it back in the door. I removed the stud and it took me a couple of minutes to figure out how it went back in.

Thank you for the video. It worked like a charm. I had an estimate from a mechanic for $250. Ordered the part online for $32 and did it myself. One point, not all of the three bolts on the left side are used. Two of them connect to the regulator and one of the is just there for no apparent reason (Corolla 2002). Thanks again!!

Thanks for this video. Helped me remove/swap out the motor on my 1999 Corolla. The motor in the back seat is the same as the front, so I was able to figure my way through swapping them out. The mechanism that raises the actual motor is different so it took a while to get them back into position. Also, a note to newbies: The black adhesive that holds the water shield will get everywhere, so be sure to wear gloves.

@Harrygton the majority of the new window regulators come already greased. A little white lithium grease doesn't hurt either though.

You could try to grease the track on the window regulator with some white lithium grease and you could also try to spray the weatherstrip around the window with some silicone spray. Hope this helps you out.

Is it best to replace the regulator as well as the motor or should u just get a motor to save money most of the time
@DougHinVA5 жыл бұрын
a socket can be magnetized with a strong ceramic guitar magnet (they are cheap to buy and stay magnetized). That keeps a bolt loosened in the socket and you pull it out and then remove the bolt by hand for storage until needed again.

Nicely done! My window doesn't work. I replaced the switch at the door and that didn't help. Is there any reason to think it is not the motor that is causing the problem?
@Harrygton13 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video! You forgot to clear the lock rod through the plastic moisture shield before you put the door panel back on! Also it is a good idea to lubricate the window channel with a silicone base grease to avoid the problem in the first place!

FIrst, thanks for this great video. Very clear how to get this project done. I have a couple of questions: 1. Is it best to have the window all the way up when starting? 2. When you took that last bolt out, what kept the window from just dropping down? It looked like you jiggled that assembly a little to get the window to drop.
@1AAuto9 жыл бұрын
It may help to have the window in the up position. If you keep one hand under the regulator it will help to keep it from coming down. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 866-403-3393

Why would 1A non-oem parts be better than another outfit selling non-oem parts? Does 1A make the parts themself so the quality is better??? Are the other outfits buying parts from somebody that makes them in their garage in China but 1A buys them from an elite force of craftsmen in China?
