How to Replace your Rubber Toe Bumper on your Bont Parkstar Roller Skates | Skate Tech

I had a few people request this video on my Instagram. It ended up being much longer than I thought, but I hope it's helpful. Please note I used the wrong glue at the beginning. You need quick-drying super glue, and gel is the best.
Bont roller skate boots have replaceable rubber toe bumpers. I love this feature as it protects the front of my boot from falls, and I fall a lot. However, after a while, they will start to wear out from use, but don't worry, you can replace them. In this video, I will show you how easy it is.

Hi Shorty, I notice you said you use FP insoles in your skates. I’m just wondering which ones you use exactly please? I’m wanting to replace my Bont insoles with something more shock absorbing, but there are sooo many to choose from I’m a bit overwhelmed with choice!

It was the 3mm King Foam. Also when I cut it I had to cut it to size and then taper the edge (cut at an angle) to that it sat flat in the boot.

Shorty, How thick are the bumpers and how offten are you chewing through them ? You have had those skates for about a year now?.

I got these in August and I skate about 4-5 times a week. I used to skate on wood ramps but I have been skating on concrete since September which wears them down quickly.

Hmm that's a good question. I think it would be possible so once I damage the my replacement bumper I'll test it.

I wonder if mastic glue or leather/rubber specific glue would work better and damage the boot less. When I watched the video the first time I didn’t notice the leather ripped away 😢
