Thanks! This was very helpful. If you find you have a four wire switch or unit and a three wire version of the other, just combine the green wire with the black wire and join that to the corresponding black wire. It works just fine.

If you install the new switch before cutting and reconnecting the wires you will not have them all tangled up. Why didn't you explain in detail the reason for replacing the salt cell flow switch?
@josephtardiff31512 жыл бұрын
How do you determine if it is bad?
@rnfets4 жыл бұрын
why would you pull the cell??? unnecessary! also. why cut the wires from the cell so short? what happens if you have to replace the flow switch again, now you're cutting the wires back again...

Great video. Can you replace an IC20 with a IC40?
@craigwooster66463 жыл бұрын
Yes they are the exact same size and they both use the same power center. You can even use the IC30 as long as you use the extension that comes with it, making it the same length as the IC20 and IC40 and IC60. All the cells use the same power center
@user-pr8ei1kb5f3 жыл бұрын
@@craigwooster6646 how about the ic15? It says it is used for above ground pools but I don't see why you cannot use it for in ground pools up to 19k in size?

If the cell shows 80% used can acid cleaning or replacing what you did extend the life, or do I have to replace the cell with a new one?
@craigwooster66463 жыл бұрын
Changing the flow switch will not extend the life of the cell. It is more cost effective to replace the cell when 80% used than to replace the flow switch.

Do you have it connected to a Pentair phone app? If so, you may need to control the % through the phone app rather than through the buttons.

Hey, I have a question about my intellichlor ic40. It was running fine last time I checked it but now it's showing a solid red light on the cold water. Could the flow sensor be the cause? This cell is about 8 years old
@Maverick48413 жыл бұрын
If it's just a red light on the Cold Water and no other lights are on, the cell won't make chlorine when temps are cold. When water warms back up it will start producing again.
@nwartdealer3 жыл бұрын
@@Maverick4841 Mine is doing that and the pool is 84 degrees. I'm in fl. it does not get cold but that cold water light is solid red. Flow switch bad?
@Maverick48413 жыл бұрын
@@nwartdealer It very well could be a flow switch Bob, for maybe less than $100.00 bucks you could try a new flow switch. However, if the cell is 5 years old or older you might just put that money towards a new cell.
