I like the way you lined them up. That method eliminates the major hurdle I had with putting on that tank badge. thanks

It’s just one way of doing it. I could’ve gotten more OCD with it, but I took the softer approach lol. Thank You for watching 🤘🏽

Thanks for the tip on how to align the new badge using the old badge before removing
@RAIDERWORLDАй бұрын
For sure! Hardest part, is that dang tape lol
@johnkennedy31746 ай бұрын
You can use a rubber wheel on a drill to remove the double sided tape off the paint. 3M sells them, tape comes off quickly and you can buff the tank to remove any oxidation around the Harley Davidson emblem. Tank badge looks awesome !

Another great method! Some people get scary around drills lol. Thank You 🙏🏽

Well, I installed my badges this morning (and afternoon). What a pain but worth it. One tip, for that final fine line of adhesive after using goo gone, rubbing compound works pretty good. They look great.

Hey! that's awesome! does that process applies for a matte color? in my case Industrial grey denim. Thanks
@RAIDERWORLD5 ай бұрын
It’s the same procedure. I would be a little more cautious, because denim is less forgiving. It tends to scratch easier

Do you know where to get new tape for the back of these? RickRak sold them to me, but never told me they come one for the right side and one for the left. So, I obviously put them on the wrong side. Now I had to remove them, but I need new adhesive tape and am hesitant to use what I buy off the shelf

You can pick up large pieces of 3m tape and use a ZACTO knife to trace the emblem. Or pick up ones already made here rebuscustom.com/3M-tape-for-harley-custom-metal-tank-emblems

To take those off are like trying to take off a decal that has gotten wet and been in the sun multiple times The best thing to do is use the goof off that he has that is the sticky substance and use the goof off spray that's in a spray can bottle those two combinations together will wipe that shit off😅😅😅😅

I found the best way to remove OEM badges is to use the heat gun & dental floss or plastic fishing line. This way removes 80% - 90% of the 3M tape as you’re removing the badge

So the Harley badges that we SHOULDNT be able to get for the previous CVOs along with the bags and some other stuff, which most of em can get from Advanblack, make you or ANY of you feel smart about your CVO purchase(scam) from Harley or now that I have a regular RG/SG that looks like your CVO for lets say easy 10 grand less makes me smart??? 😂😂😂😂😂 Go follow the hype...😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

It does make me feel a little better when I see a dude that bought a standard and could've customized it anyway in the world but chose to make a CVO replica. That makes me feel a little better, i must admit.
