What a beautiful orchid you have! Just got this exact one myself from a grower and was super excited to see someone else had it! Yours looks stunning, mine is a little shriveled from traveling. As far as an ID, the closest I’ve been able to get is that its a Flexuosum of some kind..

Thanks for the report video. I haven't seen anyone else using cork bark but it's lightness & air pockets sound like a great idea. I've never seen a garden centre stocking cork but I'll see if I can get it online otherwise.

I have never tried this growing method...maybe someday when I have time to think about how to go about it. Is it a self watering setup that you use?

@@TheOrchidHut I use the full semi hydro where you put two holes in a plastic pot so you can flush at the bottom of the pot ninja orchids use a self watering system but there not much between the two setups tbh

How much light does an Oncidium need?

It depends on the Oncidium, but somewhere in the range of 2000-4000 foot candles. It will be difficult to know what this is unless you have an accurate light meter. They are considered a ‘medium light’ orchid - so, more than a Phalaenopsis but less than a Cattleya. Hope that helps, and thanks for watching!
