Thank you for the informative video. Question - how do I know when to re-pot it? We will be getting one soon. Should I put it straight into a big pot even though it's only small, or should we let it outgrow the current pot kind of like a hermit crab?!

It will depend upon what kind of plant you are growing to know when it might be ready to be transplanted. Citrus trees do like to fill the container they are growing in before being transplanted into a bigger pot. Some plants like tropicals or vegetables will love going from the pot they were delivered in right into a much larger container. Most trees and shrubs will king of let you know when they are starting to outgrow the pot they are in by how frequently they dry out in between waterings.

Thanks for your reply. By "one" I meant a finger lime, sorry. So basically, if I water it in the morning and by evening if I can pretty much pull the whole thing out of the pot without much effort, then it's time to upgrade. Thanks again :)

Don't put fruit tree in a larger pot than needed. You can cause overpotting. It is described here: www.rhs.org.uk/advice/profile?pid=864#:~:text=Overpotting%20is%20a%20term%20used,is%20suffering%20as%20a%20consequence.
