Thank you for posting this video. It got me out of a real jam. Popped out a tire on a ram 1500 and I tried everything to to get it to seat. Looked up a video on how to do it and this is the first one I saw. It worked magic. Good job!

I cant believe it. The spare on the back of the jeep was off the bead. (Thank you discount tire for giving it back to me like this) I never used the ratchet strap before. So figured that out then wrapped it, greased it while still mounted. Pushed the compressor to 90psi and POP! Hey, if a 75yo lady can do it anybody can. THANK YOU!

Perfect; just what I needed to get an unseated trailer tire back in action without any extra helpers. Thanks!

Matt, you may not have the best editing skills, damn you know how to bead a tire. Fixed my lawn mower tire in under 5 min, whereas my coworker said it usually takes them around an hour to do it. Thanks, Matt!

Dude! You don't know how much money you just saved me! I just brought larger rims and tires for my jeep that came with no sensors. Now I can just add my stock ones and spend an extra hundred plus on adding them. Thanks

Also if you clean the bead off and put some watered-down dish soap on the rim, it will pop into place much sooner/easier

Worked great. Put some soap on the rim and filled with air. Slowly crept without adding constant pressure and finally popped into place without my hands anywhere near the tire.

Matt, thanks. I just used my newly installed ARB onboard air compressor to do this to a tire I just pushed off the bead on a trail.

@thesoftgoat13989 жыл бұрын
Good trick I have used it a few times, sometimes I take out the schrader valve if the bead just does not want to seat. More air gets in faster that way.

Good point! I've been using this trick for a long time now and nobody seems to think of this as being an option. I wish I had an air compressor again, but I bought a new house and I had to leave my 55 gallon at the old house. I don't work on cars as much as I used to anymore, so I can't justify having a large compressor.

So this should pop the tire beads back in place?
@ballarz50192 жыл бұрын
So that will work hitting a pot hole.My tire was brand new.The pot hole was small.But tried to put air in it and wouldn't fill so I'll try this method see if it works.$90 tire to no more than a day old.
@willmon1910 жыл бұрын
Pretty awesome way to do it. I like the starter fluid way even though it is dangerous and you can burn up your tire if you do it wrong.

You can also just seal it with wrapping microwave foil where the holes are and then pump it to bead it, I got a video on it on my channel

blew the wheel weight off when the bead popped, any hints on how to avoid this, and most importantly hope you weren't winged by that since it could be about like a bullet flying?
@harvestblades8 жыл бұрын
Even if you keep the weight on the rim it will most likely need to be balanced as the tire has probably rotated.

Can you do this with a 12v compressor?
@frankenstrat259 жыл бұрын
Or you can just take the valve stem out and hit it straight air. that usually sets the bead. or you can do it like the good ol days and one ring of starting fluid around the bead, light it and bam bead is set
@deeazz28897 жыл бұрын
Used this technique for new tires on my Honda Civic. Worked for two out of four tires but I used a crappy gas station air compressor

Did that once - just stood the wheel up, sat on it, bounced and rolled a little and popped in and re-inflated no problemo! Be careful, you'll put your eye out.

My idiot friends were doing donuts aired down in my F-150... the stock Goodyear Wranglers de-bead pretty easy. Luckily we were able to strap it and use a Milwaukee inflator to air it up. But if you can, you want high flow pump. And if this doesn't work, remove the valve core, try airing it up, let the air out, put the valve core back in and you should be good.,

Starting fluid and a match. Careful not to use too much starting fluid or itll create what i think is a vaccuum of some sort and start inflating. It happened to me and i forced cold compressed air into the tire and it reversed it. Not sure why but it worked lol. Kinda scary to be honest.

We used to do that with hand operated tire changers back in the 60's - nothing new under the Sun here. Lots of muscle and lots of dish soap. Also had portable bubble type tire balancers too with adjustable legs to level the balancer. Now I just use a squirt of naptha cuz I'm lazy.
