This is actually a gauge sweep test, used to see if they all sweep when commanded. Not a reset.

Wow didn’t think this would work, my 2004 f150 had a fuel gauge arrow stuck at beyond full, when I’d fill up and anything over 75% full it would go back to the correct position but soon as it went under it would go all the way right. I doubted this would fix it but it did!! The gauge shook a lot in place then clicked over back to E with key off and moves to the correct spot key on!

@adamknight59443 жыл бұрын
Hey Edgar, just wondering if you did do this and sweep your gauges after removing needles and if it worked for you? I'm doing a project that requires needle removal but I'm nervous.
@andrewm09603 жыл бұрын
@@adamknight5944 hi there and yes it actually worked on my 2005 Ford 150 fx I was worried because the needles where off, there are a few videos that tells u how to rewind them but this one it's the most easiest and safest for the cluster I hope it helps you and works on your truck as well 🙏💯
@adamknight59443 жыл бұрын
@@andrewm0960 thanks for the reply. Gives me courage to tackle my project this weekend. When you replaced your needles, did you mark them and all of that, or just replace anywhere?
@andrewm09603 жыл бұрын
@@adamknight5944 u don't have to mark but if you want to that'll be fine too but be very careful one way to take them out would be using a fork and pull forward slowly and steady ( the fork behind the needle ) there are some videos showing you how to do It and how to rewind them but on this video this method was way better and useful to me and your welcome 🙏 good luck on your project brother 👍🙏💯

Fuel gauge stopped working years ago. Fuel pump just went out. New Delphi pump, cleaned connections on the frame rail, checked fuses, swept the gauges. No luck. Must be the cluster. Thanks anyway.

Did you ever figure out what the issue was? My fuel gauge is stuck
@K1ngCavi4 жыл бұрын
Mine is too it’s like backward or something
@BenandHolly20164 жыл бұрын
@@TCGThuggyC yes I did. Mine is a 5.4 MFI FFV when looked it up at AutoZone. There’s a small domino-shaped gadget that is wrapped in black electrical tape and has three wires coming out of it that connects up to the fuel pump assembly. Whatever type of resistor/sending unit that is - is what was causing my problem. Lots of forums said this thing gets gunked up in the electrical tape and shorts out. Found one at a junkyard and swapped it out. Fixed.
