How to reset Engine Management light on Sinnis Motorcycles and Scooters

This is a quick video to show people how to reset the engine management light and reset the ECU on the Sinnis range of Motorcycles and Scooters

Please note this will not remove the fault if there is one. You should ALWAYS consult your dealer before attempting this operation. Sometimes after a fault is removed, the light will need resetting - and this instructional shows how to do that.

Thank youu!! It worked on Neco Tuscano scooter too, I have turned off the killswitch as well and pressed break several times, then did your trick 5x with kill switch on and also with killswitch off and vuala check engine light was off! Boom worked light a charm!

it also helps to restrain your ECU for any changes you may have made (removed airbox restrictor or just changed exhaust)

Tried this procedure on my 2009 Yamaha Zuma 125 and it did not work. Tried it 2 different times. Engine management light stays on steady all the time while running. I appreciate the time spent on the post though

And on my benilli bn 125cc it was checked by 3 garages 1st was my dealership garage nothing wrong with the bike a little dirty could use new tryes but nothing wrong with the engine... The light was still on 2nd was my dealership garage sending it off to get a 2nd opionion still nothing wrong with the bike or engine.... still the engine light was still on 3rd was at my own expense however he was nice enough not to charge vat but still nothing wrong with the bike.... then a video I find on you tube and its gone I'm still stunned and thrilled to death to see it gone I knew there was nothing wrong with my motorcycle it runs like a dream exhaust needs a little tlc with heat paint but apart from that its fine

Are there any known issues with the terrain with regard to fuel delivery? I went ten feet this morning and it cut out. Started again, kangarood for ten feet cut out, exhaust kicking out fumes, won’t rev or tick over.

This is the coil check for moisture on it the HT cable runs off the spark plug to it

Hi there, just to be sure!!! If I reset it and there is actually a problem triggering the light, is it going to illuminate again (telling me the problem still exists) ?!!

Hi, yes, if there is an underlying issue with your bike the light will return.

My akuma cuts out when changing down sometimes (I had a ktm do the same). Will this help with that and does the bike have to be cold? The ktm had to be left overnight and be cold but a similar procedure stopped the cutting out..

It's fairly dumb to be honest. When you cycle through the various menu options it just goes out when pressing reset and select

Hold down the the 2 buttons on the dash for about 5 seconds and the oil light should go out, it will come one every 1000 kilometers for you y to o check the oil, iv got the same bike

Hi, turn the ignituon on (do not start the engine), make sure you are on Odo not Trip (on the milage) then hold the Mode button until the service key disappear

You need to speak to your dealer if this light has come on, as generally it will produce a code in the memory which the dealer has diagnostics to read, and resolve

Hi Lee , If the bike was brought second hand it is unlikely to have a warranty, unfortunatly we do not have any dealers around the exeter area im afraid

Sinnis Motorcycles why would.it not have warrenty? It's a 24 month manerfacturers warrenty. Is there somewhere written in the small print within these terms that makes the selling of the bike invalidate the 24months? It's only done 1800 miles, light isn't on when running, just the start up

Lee Saunders light always comes on at start up on all of the bikes. It’s Part if the self diagnostics do you have nothing to worry about. In the service book it does state the warranty is first owner only. Also if you had purchased it second hand from a dealer you would be more likely to have a warranty offered by a dealer. But not a private sale I’m afraid

Should really take this down.. if EML comes on you should ideally take it and get it hooked up to a reader to be diagnosed, not do a quick trick and ignore it.
