This is hilarious. They keep making the sign in options more and more difficult for ordinary users (they should just allow the user to reset their password in a domestic context i.e. Windows home edition), but you can also easily bypass it by renaming a system file through their own dialogues. Nice workaround, thanks for uploading.

You forgot to mention that you need to undo the steps again back to original state after the fix. You must delete the file you've created for CMD and rename the utilman again to its original name. If you don't do this you cannot access to command prompt window ever again and anyone seeing your video won't know that until it's to late

This was working for me perfectly. To go to the recovery mode I had to use Windowd 10 bootable DVD. From bootable DVD I loaded Windown & then followed the steps in this video. Finally did as this video shows.. Thank you very much for this great help.

I could not find the "utilman" file as you have shewn in your video. I suppose it is because the "Files of type" parameter under the File name it set to find only that kind of file. And I do not know to change that in order to find the files I need to apply your instructions.

Today[7th September, 2024] I followed the steps and it worked on my windows 10 but with a little tweak... I put the harddisk containing the account in a hard drive external case.. then I used another PC to access the "system image" process where I renamed "Utilman & cmd" Then everything works just fine
