how to reset inspection message on VW Tiguan

Thanks, I have a 2018 and this method works well. One method (with Hazard lights + foot on brake) - allows Inspection Service to be reset, the other option of Oil Service, just requires Hold down 0.0 button and press Start (no foot on brake). Can't believe only 135 people have seen this, as I guess it is a recurring problem especially the way dealerships con you into extra services you don't need, and doing them ahead of schedule. : )

Thanks for this. On mine I had to do this slightly differently. When I turn on ignition the first question to pop up every time is reset service interval - I have to keep holding down button until a second prompt appears to reset inspection interval. Then and only then do I let go of trip meter button to reset.

is this supposed to/does this have any effect on the check engine light? My check engine light came on today while on lunch. I parked the car, worked the rest of my shift and came back to the same check engine light. I reset this inspection light for shits and gigs and the check engine went off at the same time. Coincidence? EDIT: 2016 tiguan 2.0 tsi

Hey I think it was just coincidence that engine light turned off while resetting inspection. If it does come back on again then have it plugged in (diagnostic)
