This soft reset is the ONLY thing that fixed my Google Play error. Thanks! I don't know what I was going to do if I couldn't access my Receipt Hog App. LOL.

Worked for me! For some reason the Verizon Note 4 I have has a password to reset to factory settings. Went to Sprint and they're buying it so had to reset. THANK YOUUUUUUUUU

from a "normal" user point of view ... NONE, but if you find or ... "find" a phone then the second one will reset phone without having to unlock it ...

The hard reset worked for me. I had tried the soft reset before I watched this video but it kept going in circles. After I pressed delete all it kept asking me for a new password, and even though I entered it, it wouldn't go any further.

I do the exact same steps to hard reset.. But if I try to reboot the phone shows the Note 4/Android screen, then the T Mobile screen, after that it shows a loading bar and says it's installing apps.. After the loading bar reaches ~a quarter it stops and reboots again, shows those screens again, starts installing again, and so on.. My phone repeats these steps for hours but nothing happens :( What could I do?

I have some advice for all of you here that have been through the technology hell I just experienced. DO NOT USE THE FINGERPRINT FEATURE! If it stops working for any reason and you forget your backup password. YOU. WILL. BE. SCREWED. Happened to me! I had to preform the hard Reset and so I lost all of my data. You will too if your use the fingerprint feature.

First of all, I'm really hoping someone can help me because after hours of scouring the interwebz, I still have yet to come across any forum posts or youtube tutorials where someone has experienced the same problem as I am!I have a ROOTED & Unlocked model Galaxy Note 4 N910U. In the past several months I've been experiencing weird issues with the battery. Like, sometimes when below 40% it will rapidly drain super fast. And even after being plugged in, it will continue to drain like that. Or! sometimes it won't even detect that it's plugged in and I'll have to let it die out, and then after that it will detect the charger again. So weird... Anyway, I was thinking maybe I should clear the system cache? Everything I read online said to go into recovery mode to do that. There was an issue here as well, because my phone wouldn't go into recovery mode at all! An image of the android mascot standing there with a blue geometric shape coming out of his tummy is what I would get, just like at 1:49 in the video. The phone would still restart just fine though. (Also, I could get to the download screen, where it asks to press volume down to reset, or volume up to go into download mode) Since I had no way of going into recovery mode, many online sources said to use the Quick Boot app. So I downloaded Quick Boot. Hit the recovery mode button. The phone turned off. Upon coming back up, I got the image of the little android guy standing there with the blue geometric object coming out of his tummy... And it's been stuck there ever since!! I have no way of getting past that screen. Turning the phone off and back on, just goes back and stays stuck there. Pulling the battery out and putting it back in and turning on again, same result. What's wrong?!?! No one said anything about Quick Boot doing this... And I can't seem to find anyone who's come across being stuck at the screen of the little android mascot with the blue shape. Everything online says go into recovery mode blahblahblah but the very problem in the first place was that I couldn't access recovery mode! All sources seemed to say use Quick Boot to get into recovery mode, but that's the very thing that caused my phone to get stuck! How can I even hard/factory reset my phone if it won't boot at all??? Once again, when I turn my phone on it shows the Galaxy Note 4 logo screen, then immediately shows the android mascot image from 1:49 and gets stuck there. When plugged into my laptop, it does not detect the phone either. I would be eternally grateful for any help!!!-Jay
