after the phone vibrates try taking your finger off the power button, but hold the volume and home button still... took a lot of tries but it worked for me eventually

Looks like im late. I have one woth broken screen but the digitizer is still on good condition. But i need a password. If you have a pc and a usb to micro usb connector and it supports data transfer why not try connect and it might show on your computer file manager!

Mins isn't working. It is off and charges enough. I've tried 3 times. Every time the Samsung logo appears and it says "recovering booting" in the top left corner. Then it vibrates once and screen goes black. I held all the buttons for like 20 more seconds and nothing happened, so I let go, and the phone then just turns on. This happened every time. Please help! It is my cousins old samsung Galaxy s3 so it doesn't have service, but it still has the passcode that he doesn't remember.

it`s not working,,,if you set password and you want wipe all data you need to type the password..so you neet to install a new system to reset the phone

It's a factory reset. You are wiping everything. It's gonna be like when the phones first out of it's box.
