How to RESET Security PIN on Samsung Smart TV to DEFAULT (Easy Method!)

Do you want to know how to reset samsung tv without pin? It's easy to reset your Samsung TV PIN back to default. If you are trying to change your PIN the default PIN is 0000. To reset your pin, turn off your TV. Now press MUTE 8 2 4 POWER and turn on your TV. Then you can change the PIN by going to Menu, System, Security and you can type in the default pin 0000 and change your PIN number easily! If you are trying to RESET your TV settings back to default or trying to access the SMART HUB on your TV enter your new PIN.

I went to Samsung's own instructions and they didn't mention this. This worked perfectly whereas theirs didn't. Good job.

If this sollution didnt work for you, atleast what worked for me is: go to tv source, then quickly press these buttons : Mute + Volume Up + Return + Volume Down + Return + Volume Up + Return This resets the pin to 0000 Hope this helps!

I have the AU8000 Samsung 55" Crystal 4KUHD TV and this instructional video worked to reset my PIN. Strangely, I never actually set a Security PIN yet there was one. @@marcelavanegue5091 just press and hold exit button on your remote and follow the factory reset instructions on screen. Once you do plug play set up then turn off tv and press on your remote mute 824 power and follow the instructions for plug and play again. And then go to set up and change the factory pin 0000 to whatever u want. :-)

Thanks buddy it works, strange thing though with the series 6 TVs (mine is the 6400) the TV turns back on sometimes after pressing 8 and when it does work it will come up on the TV "not available" but it has actually reset the code it just wont alert you in anyway and comes across as if it didn't when infact it did work. cheers

This must be for older Samsung TVs because if I press any number on the TV remote it can't finish the sequence before the TVs switches on So that's no good for my type of Samsung TV

Not working for me. My ue49ku6500 TV comes back on when pressing number 2 every time despite doing it as fast as I can, which is tricky on a small Samsung BN59-O1247A remote with small keys/buttons - there is always a delay, too - so might this be a remote sensing issue. Not working with the mute, volume up, return, volume down, return volume up sequence either. Nothing on samsung's official website helps resolve this issue although it hints at a software update but does nto dirct the customer to a specific one. Would this sequence work using a universal remote like ONE FOR ALL? I used to highly rate samsung but not any more.

I'm shocked I had to refer to this video again 1 year later. Somehow my pin was changed and I just now reset my TV back to the default pin and changed the pin again. Wonder if SmartTVs are hackable? Anyhow, I left the TV on this time and pressed: Mute, 824, Power and my TV rebooted by turning off first and quickly back on again. Maybe turning the TV off first didn't actually change the pin... Anyway, thanks again for the video.
