Thanks.. After turning to on.. then pressing the excellerator 5X then release..waited 7 secs then I pressed down on excellerator about 10 seconds or until Service Engine Soon light starts flashing..I didn't turn it back off. I immediately started the car and service engine soon light went off.. Appreciate ya . 07 Infiniti fx 35 with 219402 miles.. My fun toy 🎉❤

I got the Service Engine Soon light after changing spark plugs on my G37. I tried to clear the light with the accelerator pedal procedures. This process did not work. I removed the negative cable for 2 hours. The Service Engine Soon light was reset. The radio presets were NOT erased. The seat/instrument cluster settings were lost. I have a great mechanic I go to, he will hook up my car to their diagnostic tool to see what codes triggered the alert, but then he clears them, for free. The removing the negative battery connection worked like a charm. I’d say if the service engine light keeps coming on, then I would have it checked out, but if you clear it and it’s fine for months I’d prob not be too concerned.

Thanks this really helped me. My light came on after an oil change and changed both filters. I have not have any issues with GG except having to replace my serpentine belt and she has 132k miles on her. My service engine soon light came on once before and believe it or not after I tightened the gas cap it went off never came on again until now and that was in 2016. I hope this does the trick! Thanks!

Those instructions that told you how to reset the ECU by depressing the accelerator were wrong. You need to press it 5 times within 3 seconds, not 5 seconds. Then, wait for 7 seconds. Then press and hold the pedal for 10 seconds. Release the pedal and wait 10 seconds. Finally, press and hold again for 10 seconds. Turn ignition off, and ECU is reset.

Hi my engine light vome on and stay on and when it drive gos on and off so I take you advice about the old schooll and diconet the negative cable and fo like you said and whent off thanks to you it sabe mi $478.69 that was goodyear going to charge me to fix the engine light on they told me the 2 step guel system cleaning and replace spark plugs but zi listen to you and got it fix now today I was riden to the moutain and when I coming back my guel gage start yo come down to E and I put gas before we go so zi stop a the gas station and put more gas but the gauge stiil down to E do you know any advice that I can do to fix it let me know I apreciate .

I just bought one for my first car and I got leaves also 😭😭 the check engine light was never on until I changed the battery and the negative part was not connected for that long and once I drove it after a while my check engine came on. Is that concerning or no?

So i have a question, i had to change the heater hose connector on my Infiniti g37 09 cause it was rusted. I replaced it and added the coolant so its filled up again. If i reset it how you explain and it stays on, does that mean there is still something wrong with it?

Go to your local autozone/part store and get them to read the code your car is throwing

My advise is to get this obd scanner off Amazon and clear the service light, then drive about 50 miles before getting it inspected. amzn.to/40TNCnK

I believe the DMV can tell if you did this when you go for inspection within 150 miles or so of disconnecting the battery and they will not pass you. They will make you drive x amount of miles to make sure the service light stays off.
