Excellent. I am planning to buy a bike to ship to Sint Maarten with no BMW dealer on the island. Super helpful Thank you!

Hi there! Thank you for the great video! If I buy this diagnostic tool, in addition to resetting the service reminder, will I be able to do the "BMW diagnostic test" that is required with the 12k mile service?
@danondemand Жыл бұрын
The included software allows you to run a lot of diagnostics, error code read and reset, as well as maintenance things like activating the ABS pump during brake fluid bleeding.

I have BMW c400 X any suggestion what tool I can use to avoid going to dealer?
@danondemandАй бұрын
I've only used the gs911 but others mentioned there are other and less expensive options too. Any recommendations from anybody else?

Will any OBD2 scanner talk to the bike? I am only interested in resetting the maintenance message and oil & chain are the only maintenance I would do myself, so I dont care about the other diag tools. Thanks!
@danondemand Жыл бұрын
No, not all of them will work. I heard that "unicar scan" model "ucsi-2100" is a less expensive option that works. I think you have to buy some relatively inexpensive software to make it work though. Ive never tried that myself.

@@danondemand thanks but I think I’m going to a local guy who does great work on BMWs around here and see what he will charge to clear the message.

Hello, I wanted to know if it is possible to deactivate the abs with this tool. since to go off road I can't deactivate them
@danondemand4 ай бұрын
Hi! Your bike should have a button on the left handlebar with a partial circle ending with an arrow and an exclamation mark inside of it. If you press and hold it it'll disable DTC. This is handy off-road (if you know what you're doing). I would not disable ABS, especially for off-road since it can only save you. But to answer your question, no the tool doesn't let you turn it off (that I know of)

Could you also eco tune / chip the bike with this unit?
@danondemand Жыл бұрын
No, it doesn't have any tuning options like that.

Purchased OBD and managed to reset service interval using Motoscan app which I needed to upgrade for 27 bucks, happy camper now🤣

I am seeing issue when i reset, it gives me the message that service is extended but on the motorcycle it is reset back to service due. Unable to understand what is wrong

Which bike do you have? I'd try a few different things: 1) make sure that you're only changing one thing at a time. On my 2010 s1000rr sometimes the clock gets reset when I play around with menus or change different settings. 2) make sure you're using the newest version of the gs911 app. 3) check if you can make other changes, like setting the clock or changing the reset mileage interval.

Does this work on iOS bmw 310 gs
@danondemand Жыл бұрын
I haven't used it that way but hexcode is the GS911 company and they have an app: apps.apple.com/us/app/gs-911wifi/id771720761 Be sure to get a wireless version of the tool, not the USB only if you plan to use it that way.

Why not the Nexus OBD so much cheaper?
@danondemand6 ай бұрын
Yeah it's definitely on the pricey side. Do you have the Nexus? I know other options exist for resetting the service reminder but I'm curious if they also let you change all the other bike settings.
@scotty22216 ай бұрын
Is that the same tool the dealer uses to reset the service reminder??? Why soo expensive?
@danondemand6 ай бұрын
No, dealers have their own specialized computer and SW that can also push SW updates. And yeah this thing is pretty expensive but since I do all my own service on multiple bikes it's paid for itself pretty quickly
@scotty22216 ай бұрын
@@danondemand Ah, makes sense. I was gonna try the $50 OBD II blue tooth reader and then use the app unless the GS911 can also adjust the fuel to air ratio? Would love to make the GS run just a tad bit richer if possible since they mostly come lean from the factory.
@danondemand5 ай бұрын
No it doesn't give you the option to change the mapping. For that you'd need something like the power commander
@jetcarddude Жыл бұрын
Much cheaper to pay the $35.00 to have it turned off. Last time I looked the GS911 was around $399.00
@danondemand Жыл бұрын
👍 Yeah that is definitely an option if you're near a dealer who's willing to do that.
