How To Reset Trailer ABS

By Pressing 6 times on brakes to reset ABS Sensor works for both Truck and Trailer. ABS Issue doesn't prevent you from driving BUT that is a Big Safety Concern and must be taken care of ASAP. Any law enforcement agency notices your ABS Malfunctioning, be sure you will be put Out of Service! There afterwards this repair will be quadrupled in cost. You are correct, it’s worked. Don’t turn on ignition before pumping brake pedal.

@@Montoya1991 the key was turned at the on position but not running . Pumped six times & then started it up . It disappeared. If it doesn’t go away at that moment push the brakes in and pull up a few feet to unlock the brakes . I had to pull up the second morning and it went away after a couple of feet of moving .

Lol...Un plug the pig tail, and plug it back in...Thats it eh'...HAHAHAHAH.....I found usually that never gets it..However you can take your pig tail lose from the trailer, and check the pig with your light detector..Hook your alligator clips to a good metal surface and probe to check the power is going thru..Also important to go back under the trailer..Find the wire that runs into your drum on each inside wheel...Feel along that wire near the wheel and you will find a plug, thats the ABS plug...It easily unplugs..Take some starting fluid if you have it, and shoot a little in the plug, and the 2 pins on the other end if you have some..Starting fluid is a great way to clean electrical connections because it drys super fast because of the alcohol, and cleans things up pretty good..Next take a wire brush or sand paper and scrub the little pins..Then add a small dab of grease on each pin, and plug it back in..Do this on all 4...Its simple and easy, and is the problem most of the ..Dirt and corrosion gets in there, and it just needs to be cleaned up..Now go back and start your truck..Hopefully the ABS light is now gone...If all else fails put a little electric tape over the tattle tail light and haul ass....LOL

You shouldn't just be looking to clear the light. You should be looking for the problem that caused the light to come on in the first place. Don't juat turn the light off and ignore it. So the light is off but the underlying problem is still there

How many of you, know what i know...that abs on an 18 wheeler is literally governmental raqueteering. Antilock brakes my ass. We can all slide all 18 wheels by pressing even a little firmly on the breaks. Just the 8 of the trailer, even easier..1 axle..best not cough while you attempt to easy on the brakes while empty, else you might slide 2 rubber. This antilock doesn't work. Nor does this junky light system. They make it to make money. It absolutely works, for that, only. Rant over

Pressing on the brake pedal firmly 9 out of 10 times does NOT make an abs light go away!!! - Air leaks from gladhands can trigger this. - brakes are out of adjustment. All it takes is just 1 brake on a trailer to be 1 turn out of adjustment from the other 3 to trigger an abs light as soon as you touch the brakes. If abs light is on and stays on. You have a definate leak, or brakes are way out of spec. Where this guy comes up with a loose abs connector is far beyond me. If the light comes on then it is clearly working.
