The process is the same on any Mac computer.
In the first method, we will see how to remove all content from your mac and how to cancel your AppleCare subscription.
In the second method, we will discuss some manual methods including Backup your Mac, MacBook, Sign out of iCloud on Mac, Unpair all the Bluetooth Connected Peripherals, and Erase hard drive and Clean install macOS.
I’m going to perform all methods and steps on a MacBook. Let's take a look at all the methods one by one.
First, we will see how to remove all content from your mac.
This option erases all content and setting options available in the last two versions of macOS VENTURA and the earlier version of Monterey. Here I will show you how to erase all content and settings in the latest mac. If you want to know more about Monterey, click the (i) button.
First, go to the APPLE LOGO from the menu bar and select system settings. Then, go to the General option and select the transfer or reset option.
Here, you will see the Erase all content and settings option. Before erasing all content, make sure you have a time machine backup or disk. You can right click on the drive and backup your data first. Then, click on erase all content options and enter the Mac login password. Next, select your account and click on continue. It will sign out apple ID, All touch IDs will get removed, and all Bluetooth accessories will be unpaired. In addition, the Find my & activation lock will be turned off.
Enter the password for Apple ID; by doing this, you will also be signed out of apple music, apple podcasts, Apple TV, Apple News, the apple store, and other Apple Services. Click on continue. Again, enter the password to turn off Find My on Mac. Click on Continue. It sends a verification code to your registered contact number; enter the verification code. Now, the popup window will open and show two options to Erase all content & setting or cancel. Now you need to click on “Erase all content & setting.” Your screen may be dark while your Mac is being erased and while your Mac restarts automatically. After completing this process, your Mac displays “Hello” on the Welcome Screen. Now it's ready for reselling.
Next, I will show you how to cancel your AppleCare subscription.
Apple makes the hardware and the operating system, and many applications and Apple products are truly integrated systems. And only Applecare products offer service and support from Apple experts so that most issues can be resolved in a single call.
If something goes wrong with this method, you can try out manual steps to clear all data and accounts. First, we will know how to back up your Mac using Time Machine. You will need external storage to store the backup, like external drives.
Go to the Apple logo, tap on system settings, select General, and click Time Machine. The time machine backup drive will open, right-click and select start backing up to an external drive on the Mac whenever you want. It takes some time to back up your data. Your backup file is available in an external drive; you can access it from the finder window.
If the time machine backup drive still needs to be set up, you must first add a time machine backup drive. Click on the (i) button to know more.
The next step is to sign out of iCloud on Mac.
It will remove accounts from mac to protect your private data. As you know, iCloud contains your payment information, personal data, and more. That’s why don’t hand over the Mac without signing out of iCloud.
Follow the steps performed on the screen. Go to the Apple logo, select system settings, and click on your APPLE ID from the top. The overview screen will open.
Once you sign out of your iCloud account, it will log you out from all apps where you have signed in apps like iMessage, Apple store, Apple Tv, and Music.
Make sure that your screen time option is turned off. It is impossible to sign out of an Apple ID account if it is on. If you face a grayed-out issue during sign-out, click on the (i) button to know more.

The last step is Erase the hard drive and Clean and install macOS.
After performing all the steps, you must delete the hard drive and clean install macOS.
