Thank you. I made a square needlepoint (took me 37 years to finish!!), and the only frame option that i am happy with is a wooden frame that is larger and not square. I was nervous about the idea of rebuilding it - everyone seemed to think it was a bad idea, and i've never done such a thing. Thanks to you, i see my idea isn't crazy, the techniques you use are the same i was figuring i'd have to do, and i'm totally confident it will come out fine. WHEW!!

Oh, that's great!! I hope it turns out nicely for you! Well done finishing off the needlepoint after 37 years!!! 😊💜

Thank you for sharing this idea. I have a custom made pixel picture and there was no frame the size i needed. I went to the store and bought the next biggest size frame. I will have to cut it down both directions just like you did but now that I see what I was thinking in action, I don’t feel so stupid. Thank you very much for sharing this brilliant idea!

what if you want to put a photo into a frame that's too big all around? Could you show us the steps (especially the measuring part to achieve this? I could post my picture and my frame for yo to see and would love any tips...Thanks : )

would you recommend this method if the difference is 1/4 of an inch in frame size on both dimensions?

H ow do i make inside of frame larger if a tad too small for a canvas panel to fit. Have used Dremel, but is messy grinding off material to make it fit and hard to do inside corners.
@HamptonYourHouse3 жыл бұрын
Hmm, that's a tricky one. If it's only a tiny bit too small (and the frame isn't too expensive) you could try prying the frame apart slightly and then filling in the gaps with putty and/or slivers of wood...but it could start to get messy pretty quickly! Or maybe consider getting some wood and creating your own frame? Hope you can figure something out that works! 😊

Do you have a video of custom cutting an aluminum frame like the BJÖRKSTA frame of IKEA?
@HamptonYourHouse2 жыл бұрын
No sorry, but I imagine as long as you have a saw that is designed to cut metal and the right glue to attach it back together, the process should be fairly similar. When in doubt, ask for help at your local hardware shop - they might even be able to cut the frame for you for free! 😊

I always have the problem with the picture being slightly bigger than the frame. It’s not always practical to trim the picture so how do I do that?

If you know anyone who has a quilting ruler mat with the roll-cutter thing (like a pizza cutter), they might be able to help you with a really nice straight cut? Or perhaps a really good office supply store might have an A3 or bigger size paper guillotine? Hope that helps! 😊

Hello, how did you remove the original plexiglass from the frame? I have a frame that the plexiglass is glued to the frame???
@HamptonYourHouse8 ай бұрын
Oh that's a shame! My plexiglass was not glued in. Perhaps you can find something that would help to dissolve the glue? Maybe rubbing alcohol or something similar? Let me know if you find something that works! 😊

Heating it with blow dryer loosened it up. Slowly section by section.

How do you mark the measurements?
@DavyDave13133 жыл бұрын
That’s like. A lot of work. I think I’ll just put black paper behind to conceal that gaps lol
@HamptonYourHouse3 жыл бұрын
Haha, yes, I've definitely done the black paper behind the picture method before too!! 😂
